TOMB OF KIKI-SAMUT

(TT409) - (Assasif)- Charles Woods

KIKI also known as Samut was a royal administrator.     The tomb itself had been abandoned for a long time and ended up being used as a stable.   Most of the illustrations within the tomb concern the journey of the corpse to Abydos.  It was held that all Egyptians should try and make a pilgrimage to this sacred place at least once during their lifetime to the Temple dedicated to Osiris where his head is supposed to have been kept. The remainder of the tomb concerns the matter of his abandonment of his family.

We are unable to supply any good illustrations of the tomb.   We would appreciate any assistance with this if anyone has any good pictures when we will try and update this page.
